Project Description

Project Description

The scope of this capstone is to design, build, and test a particle image velocimetry (PIV) system that tracks microscopic tracer particles to quantify flow fields inside realistic neurovascular models. The system interfaces with a physiological flow loop to study cerebral blood flow and test how devices like catheters, coils, stents, and flow diverters influence hemodynamics. The goal is to support experimental stroke and aneurysm device research using real measured flow behavior.
