The final design strategy is to first reduce TSS and BOD via a physical filtration method, a biological treatment method, or a combination of the two prior to treatment in a constructed wetland. Due to the high BOD loading rates, a preliminary treatment process is required as to not overload the wetland system. These two phases will be evaluated separately and the final design will be a combination of the best of the two phases.
