NAU Mechanical Engineering Capstone 2025

Project Overview

The goal of this project is to design a highly dexterous robotic hand which will serve as a testbed for two of NAU’s research labs to dip their toes into the field of prosthetics. Our sponsors have set forth two major goals for the hand: 1) to be able to play a tune on the piano and 2) to be able to catch a ball. These requirements set forth a high bar for speed, strength, and dexterity.
