Field Superintendent (Summer Internship Program) / 2008 and 2009

McCarthy is a large, national construction management / general contracting firm performing new build, tenant

improvement and facility upgrade services in both the public and private sectors. 

 

Under the direction of the Site Superintendent, I supervised the construction, installation and completion of two

HVAC mechanical upgrade projects for the Chandler (AZ) Unified School District.  This required managing t

he day-to-day site operations, client and subcontractor communications, meeting schedule and budget

requirements, supervising 50 trade workers, the monitoring of indoor air quality and safety in an occupied campus

environment, and resolving conflicts that arose during the progress of completion.

Kraemer Engineering is an Arizona-based full service, mechanical engineering firm that provides professional

design services and assistance directly to private owners and developers as well as municipal, state and federal

clients and other members of the contracting community. 

 

My role primarily included assisting the professional engineering staff with the system designs of commercial

HVAC and related mechanical components and involved preparation of the as-built drawings for existing completed

facilities; utilizing Auto CAD programs to create detailed HVAC drawings, diagrams and schematics; using Trane

equipment software to accurately compute system load calculations; and compiling required LEED documentation

on a project specific basis.
