STATUS REPORT 19 Sep 1997

TASKS COMPLETED

  1. Changed meeting time from Mon, 3-5 p.m., to Tuesday, 2-5 p.m..  This will allow us to meet before and after the teleconference with our client.
  2. Consulted with Dr. Sagahyroon concerning lab computers to be used in ethernet network.  Permission was given to format machines to our needs, as long as they remain usable to other students
  3. Placed Rich Ames on group mailing list
  4. Teleconference with Rich Ames - obtained following information concerning the project:
  5. Matt Ericson obtained comprehensive documentation on the construction of ethernet packets.
  6. John Kobinski reported that software development packages available for PC's were inadequate and we will use the RCS system provided by UNIX.

TASKS CONTINUED

  1. John Kobinski continues to compile a list of current software products that are comparable to our design project.
  2. The team will review and incorporate Dr. Collier's comments on the Software Development Plan and the Gantt Chart before submission to Richard Ames.
  3. Rob Waltz continues to research ethernet packet troubleshooting.

TASKS STARTED

  1. The team has divided the elements of the problem description between them and will begin to create a detailed specifications document for each requirement.
  2. Concurrently, the team has begun preliminary brain-storming towards an architectural design concept.
